G Casino
Grosvenor Casinos has officially opened its ninth G Casino in the UK after holding a VIP re-launch night in Coventry.
Over 1,200 guests from across the region were greeted with a glass of bubbly and canapés at the stylish party at the G Casino at the Ricoh Arena.
Its restaurant will now be operated by Midlands-based Mahir’s Experience which also opened at the re-launch.
Paul Davies, general manager of G Casino Coventry, said the re-launch night had been a tremendous success.
“We are extremely proud to open our ninth G Casino and we have had a really positive response from people across the region,” he said.
“We believe that G Casino will offer the people of Coventry a great night out with a difference. Our gaming offer will appeal to many different types of customer as it varies from very low stakes gaming for beginners right through to big national Poker tournaments.
“But if gaming isn’t what people are looking for then we believe we offer so much more. Mahir’s Experience serves authentic Indian cuisine, there is live entertainment every Friday and Saturday in our Lady G Showbar and the opportunity to relax with friends in one of our great bars.”
The grand re-opening of the G Casino Coventry was themed around the 1980s with the original yellow reliant robin from Only Fools and Horses parked outside the venue.
Look-a-like Del Boy from the iconic television series was joined by a Mr T take-off and the plan certainly came together as guests had great fun having a go at the Giant Scalextric and Connect Four.
Clips from popular television programmes and adverts from the 1980s were shown on screens throughout the casino while tribute band So 80s sang hits from some of the decades most successful bands including Wham! and Duran Duran.
Then at midnight a Michael Jackson tribute, complete with zombies, capped it all off with a fantastic rendition of Thriller.
